Currituck Sound Area Transportation Study

The three (3) citizen informational workshops conducted by NCDOT were held in Currituck and Dare Counties on July 15, 21, and 22, 2004.  Interested individuals had the opportunity to review the alternatives being considered in the study.  Members of the group conducting the study and NCDOT staff were available to answer questions.  Response sheets were also provided which should be available on the NCDOT website for those unable to attend the meetings.  Please check www.ncdot.org/projects/currituck for a review of the study and opportunities for your response.

ALL CURRITUCK, DUCK AND SOUTHERN SHORES CITIZENS ARE ENCOURAGED TO WRITE/EMAIL/TELEPHONE GOVERNMENTAL OFFICIALS TO ENSURE THAT THEY UNDERSTAND THAT THE MID-CURRITUCK SOUND BRIDGE MUST BE BUILT AND RT158 AND NC12 MUST NOT BE WIDENED.  Check the list on this (buildthebridge.org) website for names/addresses of important officials to contact.

WE NEED YOUR PERSISTENCE IN GETTING THE MID-CURRITUCK SOUND BRIDGE BUILT NOW !!!

IT WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL to let Stan White know why it is so important to build the bridge and not widen Rt 158 or NC 12.
